Wellsburg K-Kids work to make a difference
The Wellsburg Primary School K-Kids have been busy with several projects.
The group, which was established by the Wellsburg Kiwanis Club, collected $280 for UNICEF, made seasonal cards for local nursing homes and veterans hospitals and collected 10 bags of food for the Salvation Army and a local church food bank at Christmas. They also are selling duct tape bows to raise money for the American Cancer Society and plan to collect items for the Brooke County Animal Shelter this spring.
Comprised of 45 third- and fourth-graders, the club’s leaders are, at right, from left, Grace Shaffer, secretary; Paige Myers, treasurer; Paige DiGiovanni, president; and Hailey Hendershot, vice president; and back, Janice Stewart and Cindy Weppler, sponsors. Kim Douglass also is a sponsor.
