Wal-Mart Distribution Center gives $2,000 check to Charity Hospice

Wal-Mart Distribution Center No. 7017 recently presented Charity Hospice Inc. with a check for $2,000 which was made possible by Wal-Mart’s Volunteers Always Pays Program.

Employees from Wal-Mart Distribution assist Charity Hospice by making fleece blankets, from which Charity Hospice purchases and provides the materials.

“The blankets are given to each patient upon admission to provide a little warmth and love from our staff,” said Cathy Cich, Charity Hospice founder and administrator.

Forty employees from Wal-Mart have donated more than 140 hours making 100 blankets and in return are able to donate monies back to Charity Hospice through the VAP Program. The employees have been doing this for Charity Hospice for several years.

On hand for the check presentation were Amanda Klinesmith, Walmart Distribution Center human resources office manager; Steve Seminara, Charity Hospice director of volunteers and fundraising; and Renita Lavender, Walmart Distribution Center human resources manager.
