School, foundation help United Way

John Gregg Elementary School in Bergholz held its annual drive to benefit the United Way of Jefferson County, joining forces with the Bergholz Community Foundation to help raise money. The foundation donated $250 to the school’s drive, helping them raise a grand total of $800.

The school’s PTO organized the event.

On hand for the presentation were Mindy Carpenter, foundation trustee; Freddy Jones, a third-grader; Larry Crow, foundation trustee; Fatima Smuck, school principal; Amy Richards, foundation trustee; Debbie Mallernee, foundation trustee; Marsha Barker, PTO treasurer; and Patricia Fletcher, representing the United Way.
