Treasure and trinkets

The Prodigal Daughter Treasures and Trinkets located at 164 N. Fourth St. in Steubenville is open following a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Tuesday at the store site. The shop carries a wide range of items and art, from quirky novelties and humorous art, to natural products such as soaps, candles, incense and personal items. Owner MaryAnn Freeze said she is excited about the art that adorns the shop walls, much of which is from Tri-State Area artists. The business is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. There will be a shift in the hours for the holiday season, and the hours will be posted in the shop. On hand for the ribbon cutting were, from left, Janet McLaughlin, Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce investor relations; Joyce Orlando, chamber ambassador; Savanna Freeze; MaryAnn Freeze; Joyce Palmer; Mila Robertson; Jerry Palmer; Jeffery Schuetz, chamber ambassador; and Cassie Balvin, chamber administrative assistant.
