≤ A story that appeared on Page 4B of the Feb. 4 business section about Apollo Professional Cleaning and Restoration’s new disinfecting system should have identified the system as the Clorox Total 360 system.

An online list of 20 organisms the electrostatic disinfectant system can kill includes cold and flu viruses, MRSA and norovirus in 2 minutes or less.

On hard surfaces, 2-minute kill times for bacteria include pseudomonas aeruginosa, salmonella enterica, staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, VRE, multi-drug resistant acinetobacter baumannii, extended spectrum beta-lactamase E. coli, Klebsiella pneumonia New Delhi metallo-beta lactamase.

For viruses, 30-second kill times are reported for avian influenza and human immunodeficiency virus. One-minute kill times are reported for human rotavirus, hepatitis B and C, duck hepatitis B, bovine viral diarrhea. Two minute kill times are reported for norovirus, canine parvovirus, rhinovirus types 14 and 39, and 5-minute kill times for poliovirus Type 1.

Mildew aspergilius niger has a 10-minute kill time.

On soft surfaces, staphylococcus aureus and enterobacter aerogenes have 2-minute kill times.
