Roach — Schwertfeger

Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Schwertfeger

FREDERICK, Md. — Matthew Schwertfeger and Valerie Roach were united in marriage on May 27 at the Stone Manor Country Club in Frederick, Md.

The outdoor ceremony was officiated by the groom’s uncle, Angelo B. Ciccolella.

A small Catholic ceremony also was held at St. Augustine Church in Elkridge, Md., officiated by the Rev. John Williamson.

The bride is the daughter of Marguerite Roach of Taneytown, Md., and the late Timothy Roach.

The groom is the son of Mary F. and Jay Schwertfeger of Bethany.

Karey Howes served as maid of honor. Josh Stoneking was best man. Other attendants were Carly Stambaugh and Julie Roach, sisters of the bride, and Tiffany Flannigan-Dolan, Amanda Jenkins, Lindsay Houser, Jack Crow, Anthony Santangelo, Nick DiBattista, T.J. Tate and Sal Decaria. The ringbearer was Angelo Paton, nephew of the groom, and Adelae Stambaugh, niece of the bride, served as the flower girl.

An evening reception was held at the Stone Manor Country Club.

The bride and groom are graduates of West Virginia University. The bride is an interior designer at Model Home Interiors. The groom is employed by Penod Ricard as a sales representative.

After a honeymoon in Barbados, the couple reside in Elkridge, Md.
