DeFranco — Rice

WINTERSVILLE – Ashley DeFranco, daughter of Mark and Joanie DeFranco of Wintersville, and Zachary Rice, son of Pam Turner of Barnesville and the late Eugene Rice, were united in marriage on June 6 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Monsignor Kurt Kemo.

The couple then traveled to Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., where a beach wedding ceremony and reception were held June 20 at the Isles Restaurant and Beach Resort.

A formal reception was held July 31 at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

Art Fetty served as the best man, with Shawn Snyder, cousin of the groom; Clay Snyder, cousin of the groom; and Anthony Orsini, David Rawson, Gene McLain and Zach Doggett as groomsmen.

Emily Allmon was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Pizzoferrato, Jenna French, Kristen Pizzoferrato, Christina Cunningham, Mandy Almonte and Pam Cunningham, all cousins of the bride.

The flower girl was Haley French, and the ring bearer was Cooper Cunningham, both cousins of the bride.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Catholic Central High School and a 2008 graduate of Mount Union University. She is employed with Steubenville City Schools as a first-grade teacher.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of Edison High School. He is employed as an operator with Ball Corp. in Weirton.

The couple live in Toronto.
